AMIDEAST Beirut

Do you want to study in the United States?  Do you know that according to the Open Doors report, there are over 1,486 Lebanese students studying in the United States?  The EducationUSA program is run by the America-Middle East Educational and Training Service Inc. (AMIDEAST), an NGO that has been in Beirut since 1968. Our EducationUSA advising center offers a full range of free services to help students and professionals access higher education at U.S. colleges and universities.  The center includes an up-to-date library with references, internet resources, and a professionally trained advisers who work with groups as well as individual students to help guide them along the admission process.  

AMIDEAST welcomes 20,000 visitors to the center every year and in addition to advising, the center provides English Language Training, Testing and Test Preparation (TOEFL, SAT, GRE), degree verification/equalization, an Entrepreneurial Institute, Scholarship Programs, English Access Micro Scholarship Program, YES High School Exchange and Tomorrow Leaders Scholarship Program.  AMIDEAST Lebanon offers professional preparation courses, English language training certificate and career orientation assessment.  Come visit our center to learn more about how we can help you.

Special Programs

Competitive College Club
Description: EducationUSA Competitive College Clubs (CCC) help the best and brightest students apply to competitive U.S. colleges and universities. CCC advisers work intensively to prepare students for the application process. CCC advisers organize student activities including study groups, intensive SAT and ACT preparation, reading assignments, lectures, and community service projects. Students sign a contract detailing their responsibilities, which include attending all meetings during the school year and summer sessions.

Eligibility Requirements: CCCs are open to students in grades 8-11 who are in the top 10% of their class.
Opportunity Funds
Description: Opportunity Funds, available through EducationUSA advising centers in many countries, support exceptionally well-qualified students of limited financial means with the up-front costs of applying to undergraduate or graduate degree programs at accredited U.S. colleges and universities. Opportunity funds may be used to pay the costs of test preparation and fees, visa and application fees, transportation costs, books, and settling-in allowances.

Eligibility Requirements: Opportunity students are selected based on financial need and strong academic backgrounds that give them the potential to receive full or partial tuition support at a U.S. institution of higher learning
Undergraduate Weekly Information Session
Description: Come learn more about how to apply to undergraduate programs in the United States. These are free and open to both students and parents. During this session we will cover how to choose an institution, funding your education, the application process, standardized testing (TOEFL, SAT, ACT, etc.) and much more.
