The EducationUSA advising center at Fulbright Canada in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada offers professional educational advising services to approximately 2,000 students annually. Operating at the Comprehensive level, our advising center services students who are interested in engaging in academic exchange between Canada and the U.S. From studying English as a foreign language, participating in short term exchanges, enrolling into full academic degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels at accredited U.S. higher education institutions, our EducationUSA advising center promotes a wide variety of academic opportunities and supports students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors, local governments, and higher education institutions in their efforts to achieve their academic mobility goals. The EducationUSA Canada center provides a variety of educational services, including free introductory public information sessions on various topics of U.S. education, webinars, individual consultations on U.S. study, and application support services. It also provides logistical support to accredited U.S. higher education institutions on recruitment in Canada, as well as supports open public events such as presentations and fairs to promote exchange opportunities while working closely with the local educational community.

Our host, Fulbright Canada, is a binational, treaty-based, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization with a mandate to identify the best and brightest minds in both countries and engage them in residential academic exchange. Fulbright Canada provides support to students, scholars, teachers, and independent researchers through a variety of programs which are open to individuals in all academic fields with the exception of medical training. The mandate of Fulbright Canada is to enhance mutual understanding between the people of Canada and the people of the United States of America by providing support to outstanding individuals. These individuals conduct research, lecture, or enroll in formal academic programs in the other country. In doing so, Fulbright Canada aims to grow intellectual capacity, increase productivity, and assist in the shaping of future leaders.
