The EducationUSA advising center at Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano in San Jose,Costa Rica offers professional educational advising services to approximately 3,000 students. Operating at the secundary level, our advising center services students who are interested in engaging in academic exchange between Costa Rica and the U.S. From studying English as a foreign language, participating in short term exchanges, enrolling into full academic degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels at accredited U.S. higher education institutions, our EducationUSA advising center promotes a wide variety of academic opportunities and supports students, parents, teachers, local governments and higher education institutions in their efforts to achieve their academic mobility goals.The center provides a variety of educational services, including free introductory public information sessions on various topics of U.S. education, webinars, individual consultations on U.S. study, and application support services. It also provides logistical support to accredited U.S. higher education institutions on recruitment in Costa Rica as well as supports open public events such as presentations and fairs to promote exchange opportunities, working closely with the local educational community.
Our host, Centro Cultural Costarricense Norteamericano has as a mission to continue being leaders on innovative language teaching strategies and on cross-cultural experiences.The vision is to enrich the quality of life, broaden horizons and to create opportunities through a constant cultural exchange between the peoples of Costa Rica and the United States of America.It works under four exes of action: English, Resources, Culture and Social Projection.
