EducationUSA advising center at Information Resource Center, Trinidad

The EducationUSA advising center at the Embassy of the United States in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago offers professional educational advising services to approximately 520 students. Operating at the Comprehensive level, our advising center services students who are interested in engaging in academic exchange between Trinidad and Tobago and the U.S.

From studying English as a foreign language, participating in short term exchanges, enrolling into full academic degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels at accredited U.S. higher education institutions, our EducationUSA advising center promotes a wide variety of academic opportunities and supports students, parents, teachers, local governments and higher education institutions in their efforts to achieve their academic mobility goals.

The center provides a variety of educational services, including free introductory public information sessions on various topics of U.S. education, webinars, individual consultations on U.S. study, and application support services. It also provides logistical support to accredited U.S. higher education institutions on recruitment in Trinidad and Tobago as well as supports open public events such as presentations and fairs to promote exchange opportunities, working closely with the local educational community.

Our host, the Embassy of the United States, has a broad range of programs and activities including Consular services, Military and Law Enforcement Cooperation, Public Diplomacy Cultural and Exchange Programs, and Economic and Policy Advocacy, maintaining a strong partnership with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago on a wide variety of shared concerns. The Embassy's integrated country strategy goals are Security, Commerce, and Governance - Education Diplomacy is a cross-cutting issue on all three of these goals, which speaks to the centrality of Education Diplomacy in the Embassy's strategic vision. American Citizen Services and protection of American Citizens are, like every other U.S. mission abroad, the Embassy's highest priority.
