Our host, The Instituto Cultural Domínico-Americano (ICDA), usually known simply as “El Domínico-Americano,” was founded in the year 1947 by a group of Dominicans and United States citizens who were residing in this country in order to strengthen the bonds of friendship and of culture between the peoples of the United States of America and the Dominican Republic. The mission of the ICDA is to foster teaching in general, as well as increase the knowledge, understanding and friendly relationship between the Dominican Republic and the United States of America, promoting their intellectual and spiritual integration by means of an enriching program of cultural relationships and through offering educational programs to various levels.
