SU can be awarded for both a study period abroad and a complete study abroad. SU will only be granted for study periods abroad, if the Danish educational institution accepts the study period abroad as part of the current Danish study programme. Foreign citizens who are entitled to receive the state educational support for study programmes in Denmark may also receive the state educational support for study periods abroad.
