EducationUSA China has five advising centers: Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenyang and Wuhan. We offer an array of services to Chinese students and parents, U.S. higher education professionals, and students and professionals in Chinese secondary and tertiary educational institutions. All of EducationUSA China services are free of charge.
As a part of the Global EducationUSA Network, EducationUSA China advisers provide accurate, current, unbiased, and comprehensive information about the full range of higher education opportunities available at accredited institutions in the United States. We encourage Chinese students to follow the 5-step “do-it-yourself” approach to apply for U.S. study. Our programs aim to help students find the institutions and programs that best fit their interests and career goals, and to prepare them for studying in the United States.
EducationUSA China advisers work closely with U.S. higher education professionals, organizing myriad activities for student recruitment, networking, and institutional partnership-building throughout China. We provide information about the Chinese education system and assistance with outreach in China.
Since 2013, EducationUSA China has organized high school counselor training conferences in different Chinese regions. We invite U.S. higher education professionals to present training sessions and to network with Chinese high school counselors. These conferences are particularly important for counselors in second-tier and third-tier Chinese cities.
Besides in-person programs, EducationUSA China uses social media to reach our audiences. Check out our free mobile app, weibo, Sina blog, and follow us on Wechat.
EducationUSA Beijing is a comprehensive advising center located at the Beijing American Center of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing’s Chaoyang District. Our services include one-on-one and group advising, virtual advising via email and social media, information sessions, workshops, college fairs, and theme-based fairs. We discuss undergraduate and graduate degree programs, and non-degree short-term or certificate programs. U.S. higher education professionals regularly join EducationUSA advisers as guest speakers.
In addition to public programs at the Beijing American Center, EducationUSA advisers frequently conduct outreach in Beijing and Tianjin municipalities and throughout the nine provinces in the Beijing consular district. We welcome U.S. higher education professionals to join our outreach.
The public program space at the Beijing American Center is well-equipped for large presentations, small workshops, and fairs. The Learning and Resource Center (LaRC) of the Beijing American Center is open to the public five days a week. LaRC has a library of education resources, including printed materials and online access to information about studying in the United States, a collection of DVDs, English language teaching and learning resources, and a variety of books and magazines about American society and culture.
