The German-American Institute Tuebingen (DAI) serves as a binational hub for cultural exchange, international education, and transatlantic dialogue. We provide residents of the Tübingen administrative district with in-depth, accessible resources on the United States and foster stronger German-American and European-American relations.
Our diverse event programming highlights the richness of both American and German cultures, promoting mutual understanding of values, perspectives, and traditions. Our public library, with a focus on English-language media, supports lifelong learning and global literacy.
At the DAI Tuebingen, we believe that international connections shape a more inclusive and informed society. That’s why we bring people together—regardless of nationality—through cultural events, educational programs, and youth exchanges. We also organize study tours and academic trips that deepen the bonds between Germany and the U.S.
A key feature of our institute is our language program, offering instruction in English, Spanish, and German as a foreign language—taught exclusively by native speakers. We support learners of all ages and proficiency levels, from beginners to advanced speakers.
The institute's work is closely connected to the EducationUSA Advising Center, your trusted source for official information on studying in the United States. Whether you're interested in high school exchanges, gap year opportunities, service learning programs, undergraduate or graduate degrees, or internships—we guide students and families through every step of the application process. Advising is available at the DAI, at regional educational fairs, and virtually.
